Volunteer firefighters involved in Gaston crash

A Gaston firetruck responding to a traffic crash with volunteers on board went off the road and hit a utility pole last night. The three volunteers were checked out and ok. The crash was apparently caused by another driver who didn’t get out of the way. The fire chief says the engine can be repaired.

Tomorrow is Paige McLaughlin’s 35th birthday, and she’s spending it in jail, accused of beating her estranged husband with a tire iron. The woman reportedly came to the victim’s home to retrieve her property when she allegedly hit him. She’s charged with felony battery and being held in Delaware County jail.
