Indy man arrested for battery

An Indianapolis man surrendered in Muncie to police after a brief standoff in the 300 block of West Sixth. Dennis Patterson III is charged with battery and intimidation. The charges stem from a woman who told police he struck her several times and wouldn’t allow her to leave the house without him.

Anderson PNC Bank robber admits crime

The man arrested for the robbery of the PNC Bank on Nichol Avenue on January 7th has pleaded guilty. Jesean Agnew took a plea deal, admitting the robbery and a drug possession charge. He’ll be sentenced on June 6th in Madison County Circuit Court.

SportsPlex in Muncie is losing money every year and is barely surviving financially, according to a study done by Ball State University. The report indicates hundreds of thousands of dollars are unaccounted for in spending and recommends new management take over or the complex’s operations should be turned over to the City of Muncie.

Former Lt. Governor to head Ivy Tech

Former Indiana Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann has been named the president of Ivy Tech Community College. The Trustees say she has experience in higher education, politics and the private sector, which make her a perfect fit. She’s the first woman president in their history. Ellspermann begins July 1st.
