Homeless Man Arrested In Gun Theft

Anderson police arrested a homeless man for the theft of 8 semi-automatic rifles and four shotguns from Dunham’s Sporting Goods. The 20-year-old man, Keenan Myers, was arrested after he tried to sell the guns – still with price tags – at a local apartment complex.

Hardees To Return To Anderson

Hardee’s is coming back to Anderson. The Board of Zoning Appeals approved the construction of a new restaurant at the old Grindstone Charlie’s site on Scatterfield Road. Hardees will eventually employ about 25 workers. The new restaurant is expected to be built later this year.

Ammunition Goes Off In Trailer Fire

Firefighters from three departments battled a fire Wednesday afternoon. Crews were called to a mobile home in the 11000 block of Delaware County Road 200 North. While they were fighting the fire, ammunition from a gun cabinet inside started exploding. No one was hurt. The occupant wasn’t home at the time of the blaze.

She Says She Stabbed Him; He Says He Fell

Police are investigating a Muncie woman’s claim that she stabbed a man who was battering her. That man, 24-year-old Jeffrey Thomas, had shown up at the ER saying he hurt himself in a fall in his garage. He was wounded in the torso. Thomas denies hitting the woman, and no arrests have been made.
