Car runs off I-69

A crash yesterday on I-69 injured a Muncie man. 62-year-old Craig Schroeder’s car went off the highway and hit the cable barriers in the median. He had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to IU Health Ball Memorial for treatment. No word on possible charges yet.

Two nurses are facing the loss of their nursing licenses after problems with drugs at their workplaces. 37-year-old LPN Laura Collins, who plead guilty to forging prescriptions to get hydrocodone and received a suspended two year sentence, is facing charges of being unfit to practice because of her drug addiction. Winchester man arrested for dealing marijuana

Police seized five pounds of pot in a Winchester arrest yesterday. 22-year-old Levi Tucker is charged with dealing. Winchester police found a skillet with weed soaking in olive oil that Tucker told police he was preparing for pot brownies. He allegedly told police he only sells the brownies “to close friends.”

Dress code changes in Delaware schools

A change to the dress code in Delaware Community Schools was approved last night by the school board, giving discretion to administrators about the length, fit and style of clothing, to ensure there is no disruption to the school environment. The new policy also gives adminstrators more options when meting out punishment for violations.

Mayor’s State of the City rescheduled

Muncie’s new Mayor Dennis Tyler will hold his State of the City address at the Horizon Convention Center on Wednesday May 18th. It’s open to the public and begins with a reception at 4 p.m. Tyler says he’ll talk about accomplishments in his first term in office.
