Storms Drop Rain; Hail On East Central Indiana

Wild weather rolled through east central Indiana Sunday evening. Strong winds, heavy rains and there were reports of hail as large as golf balls in Farmland & Parker City, causing much damage to homes and autos. Quarter-size hail showed up in Elwood and pea-sized hail was reported in Delaware and Blackford Counties.

Pendleton Doctor Loses License

A Pendleton doctor who pleaded guilty to perjury, voyeurism and drug charges has had his medical license suspended for seven years. Eric Jones gave drugs to patients without medical necessity and had sex with two patients without their knowledge. He’s sentenced to six years on probation.

A Trip To The Hospital Before Jail

In Albany, a man allegedly swallowed marijuana while he was being questioned about causing a disturbance at a Mississinewa Avenue convenience store. Edward Patterson told police what he’d done and they took him to the hospital. He’s now in jail facing possession, obstruction and disorderly conduct.

Hartford City Bandit In Court Today

36-year-old Jason Bud Garmon is set to be sentenced today in a Blackford County courtroom. The Hartford City man was charged in a series of business and bank robberies last fall in Dunkirk, Hartford City, and Eaton. Garman earlier accepted a plea deal from prosecutors and will learn of his fate later today.

Attorney Wants Jobs Re-Instated

The attorney for the plaintiffs in a successful federal lawsuit against the city of Anderson is considering their next step. The Herald Bulletin reports that the attorney is asking the judge to reinstate jobs with the city to four of the plaintiffs still residing in Anderson.
