One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a van pulled out in front of a motorcycle in Lafayette Saturday evening. The crash happened just after 7 p.m. on South Creasy Ln. Investigators with the Lafayette Police determined that a van pulled out of the Sam’s Club parking lot and turned left into the path of a motorcycle. The 42-year-old man driving the motorcycle was rushed to the hospital and then airlifted to IU Methodist with serious injuries. The passenger on the motorcycle, 40-year-old Melissa Shillings, was also taken to the hospital where she later died. The wreck remains under investigation.
