An Elwood man suspected of molesting a 7-year-old relative has pleaded guilty as charged after rejecting a plea agreement last month. 18-year-old Dylan A. Rexford, of the 1500 block of South Indiana 37, faces a maximum of six years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for May 23.
A little more than three weeks before the primary election, another presidential campaign has set up shop in Muncie. The local campaign for Hillary Clinton has opened at Democratic Party Headquarters at 214 N. Walnut Street. The Muncie opening coincided with Clinton campaign headquarters opening S in Fort Wayne and Lafayette.
An internet problem in the final hour of the Madison County Commissioner’s Certificate Sale prematurely ended the bidding on properties, but the deadline won’t be extended by the county commissioners. President John Richwine says by extending the deadline the county could be looking at some liability issues.

Delaware County Sheriff Ray Dudley is making it known that prostitution will not be tolerated in Muncie. The Sheriff’s Department, Muncie police along with the FBI and officers from Anderson, Madison County and Indianapolis staged a prostitution sting at a northwestside hotel Friday. Five Muncie residents were among those arrested.

An Anderson woman has been arrested after she breastfed her baby while under the influence of heroin, meth and marijuana. Someone tipped off police that two women reportedly “doing drugs” with a child in a room at the Fairfield Inn.
