He was just 17-years-old at the time. That was the argument from the lawyer of convicted killer Larry W. Newton who was found guilty of murder, robbery and criminal confinement in the shooting death of Christopher Coyle – a 19-year-old Ball State University student – during an attempted robbery in 1994. The Indiana Court of Appeals on Wednesday rejected Newton’s bid to have his sentence set aside.
