Alex Schools Adopts ‘Naming’ Policy

The Alexandria Community Schools board of trustees has approved a policy for the honorary naming of facilities, including entire buildings and individual areas. The district already had a policy for the naming of facilities for commercial purposes like advertising and sponsorships. The new policy covers donors and long-term volunteers.

Donnelly Muncie Town Hall Sunday

U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly will hold a town hall Sunday in Ball State University’s Emens Auditorium. The one-hour event will begin at 1:30 p.m. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. and seating is first-come, first-served. Donnelly, a Democrat, was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012.

Bill Would Allow Guns In Statehouse

Legislative employees could carry guns as they go about their duties at the Indiana Statehouse under a measure that is advancing. Sen. Jim Tomes’ bill was heard Wednesday in a House committee where many lawmakers spoke favorably of the measure. A vote on the bill is expected next week.
