Governor To Sign Controversial Bills

Gov. Eric Holcomb will sign several sharply-contested bills, including measures to increase parental abortion-notification rights, permit the use of marijuana-derived medicine and allow Statehouse employees to carry guns. The Indiana Republican made the announcement at a Tuesday news conference.

Anderson Murder Trial Delayed

The murder trial of an Anderson man was set to begin today, but it has been delayed over extracting text messages from cellphones. 25-year-old Mark Emerson allegedly stabbed Cody J. Gay to death after finding the man in bed with his estranged wife.  Emerson then kidnapped her and their three small children.

Hold The Hash Browns

You should skip the hash browns. They may have pieces of golf balls in them. McCain Foods USA’s frozen hash browns sold in nine states under the Harris Teeter and Roundy’s brands are being recalled. None were sold here in Indiana. The company says the golf balls may have been harvested with potatoes.
