Indiana District 6 Representative Luke Messer will be in Muncie today to meet with disability service providers and discuss innovative efforts and areas of need, particularly in education and job training for individuals with disabilities. Messer will tour the two facilities of Hillcroft Services and also ARC of Indiana in downtown Muncie.
Westfield Washington schools are asking voters to approve a tax hike that would make their current taxes go down. It would also help them to avoid having to make major staff cuts in the district. District leaders said 87 positions in the district could be cut if the measure fails to pass on November 8th.
Phil Rogers, the first black fire chief in Anderson history, is leaving the department. Rogers is retiring after 35 years of service. An open house in his honor is set for Nov. 12th from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Carriage House on West 53rd Street. The public is invited.
