Deadly Crash In Anderson Thursday

A deadly crash in Anderson Thursday: One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash at Rangeline Road and East 38th Street. The area, just northeast of Hoosier Park Racing & Casino, was blocked to traffic by emergency crews after one of those cars flipped onto its roof. The investigation into that crash continues.

Ku Klux Klan Appears In Winchester

The Ku Klux Klan was in Winchester this week. Three members in street clothes were standing on a downtown corner, handing out leaflets to passersby. The Klan was there for more than two hours, drawing a crowd of about 100, who vocally opposed their presence. The appearance ended peacefully and with no arrests.

More Names Added To Federal Lawsuit

More people have been added to a lawsuit in Muncie. Local contractor Shroyer Bros filed a federal suit against Muncie Building Commissioner Craig Nichols and members of the city’s unsafe building board over the demolition projects the Muncie Sanitary District performs. The suit wants that agency included in the lawsuit.

HSE Teachers To Get Raise

More than 1200 teachers in the Hamilton Southeastern school district are going to see a pay increase. The HSE school board approved the increase this week. The 3 point 2 percent raise will go into effect in January of 2017.
