New Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb delivered his very first State of the State speech Tuesday night. Holcomb called for a long-term infrastructure plan that will likely include a gas tax increase. The Tuesday night address marked the first time the Republican has spoken before a joint audience of both the Indiana Senate and House.
After more than a quarter of students were diagnosed with a stomach illness, Eastern Howard Schools, cancelled classes Tuesday. The outbreak of viral gastroenteritis forced the closure and the cleaning of the school building and buses. The nurses at the school also contracted the virus. Officials say the school will be open for classes today.
A ransomware attack strikes a Muncie-based cancer services center: Cancer Services of East Central Indiana – Little Red Door’s server and backup have been hacked. The agency’s data was stripped, encrypted and then taken for ransom. Ultimately, the agency got a ransom note for about $43,000. The agency says it will not pay.

Reagan used the bible when he was sworn in as Governor of California and in both of his presidential inaugurations.
Five Hoosiers are among the 273 Americans that were granted a second chance Tuesday. President Barack Obama commuted the sentences of five Indiana men that were sent to prison on drug-dealing charges. The commutations will wipe out or lower their sentences.
It’s a 4 point six million dollar project that will modernize State Road 9 between Interstate 69 and Huntsville Road. INDOT says construction signs are to be installed this week with crews will then begin clearing right-of-way for utility relocation.
