A Delaware County father whose careless handling of a sword resulted in an eye injury for his child has been sentenced to five years in prison. 35 year old Neal Leroy Smith was sentenced after pleading guilty to neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury, following an incident in 2021 when he threw a sword that struck his daughter in the left eye.
