Delaware County Election Board to Hear Challenges Wednesday after Reported Gas Leak

This Wednesday, at 1:00 p.m. will be the resumed meeting of the Delaware County Election Board in the Board Room second floor, as they consider several challenges to Republicans for the Primary in May.  This was the gathering that was interrupted by a reported gas leak near the County Building last week.


We have continued to follow the story of the ATF raid last year in Cowan, at the home owned by Stephen Brand.  We asked for updates from the United States Attorney’s Office Southern District of Indiana from Communications person Kelsie Clayton, “We can neither confirm or deny the existence of an investigation and we do not comment on particulars or specifics of any case until resolved.  You may have better luck reaching out to ATF.”  We did that, and several days later, the ATF referred us back to US Attorney’s office.

Former Superintendent of Delaware Community Schools for almost 15 years has landed at Hamilton Southeastern Schools.  The social media post says they are expected to appoint Patrick Mapes, who retired in 2023 from a Marion County school district.

As we told you first on WMUN News Radio Friday morning – he wasn’t sentenced last week, because he died.  38-year-old Colin William Estes was found dead in his home in Anderson, with cause not released.  He had plead guilty to driving with a controlled substance in his system, causing the death of Kevin Noble Jr. in 2020, according to the Star Press.

Chamber Bowl in Muncie Saturday – A-1 Graphics won, Family Vision Care won best dressed, High man bowler was Donnie Lucas with Cintas and the high woman was Jasmine Brown with Swift and Associates CPAs, according to Brenda Brumfield from the Greater Muncie Area Chamber of Commerce.  Some say the Scooby Doo gang got robbed for best group costume, Team WLBC was led by Captain Sean ‘Shaq’ Mattingly.

It was a Learfield Sports equipment failure thar kept you from hearing the BSU women’s basketball loss over the weekend – 48 to 70.  Men lost by 2.

Racer.com says that Josef Newgarden’s aggressive efforts to defend his lead exiting Turn 4 on the final lap of the 2023 Indianapolis 500 will not be allowed – new policing and penalties.

It was the second-best effort in program history and included seven routines of 9.900-or-better for BSU gymnastics on Friday – up next is the Penn State Quad on March 1st.
