A Muncie man who was employed as a corrections officer at the Pendleton Correctional Facility has been accused of abusing a prisoner who was overdosing. The Star Press reports 34 year old Thomas Matthew Opie is charged with battery resulting in moderate bodily injury and official misconduct, both Level 6 felonies carrying up to 30 months in prison.
