Delaware County Sheriff Tony Skinner is trying to get raises for his deputies, saying they are underpaid compared to officers in other law enforcement agencies. The Star Press reports Skinner collected salary figures from 14 other counties, some with comparable populations, others with fewer residents. He said of the 18 other police agencies in the survy, 15 had higher starting salaries than his department.
