A Dunkirk man police say appeared highly intoxicated and is now charged with assaulting an officer during a response to his home. 62 year old Michael Bechert is charged with battery resulting in injury to a public safety officer, a Level 5 felony carrying up to six years in prison, and resisting law enforcement, a misdemeanor. He allegedly grabbed an officer’s wrist and twisted it as he was being taken into custody.
