Atlas Holdings has acqured Exide Technologies through a court approved bankruptcy proceeding. The deal includes the Exide battery recycling plant in Muncie, which will be acquired by an affiliate of Atlas. Exide had said if it couldn’t find a buyer it was likely looking at staff reductions or plant closings. About 180 people are employed at the Muncie facility.
