First Merchants Corp. has reported second-quarter earnings of $33 million. The Muncie-based bank had earnings of 62 cents per share. The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 44 cents per share. The bank posted revenue of $135.7 million in the period.
