The Madison County Fair has been cancelled for July. In a unanimous vote Tuesday, the Alexandria Kiwanis Club chose to cancel the fair because of the coronavirus crisis, according to the Herald Bulletin. This is not the first time the huge family event has been canceled. It happened, too, 71 years ago in response to the polio virus.
