A 4 percent drop in enrollment this school year at Muncie Community Schools. The current enrollment of 4,863 is down about 200 students from last year’s figure of 5,066. MCS board officials think the decline is demographic in nature and not an indication of a student exodus from the district. Official count days are taken in September and February of each school year.
