Elwood Community Schools Superintendent Casey Smitherman says there was no special in-school tratment for a 15 year old student for whom she’s accused of committing insurance fraud to get him health care. She denies rumors that all discipline for the boy was filtered through her and that he had an OK to walk out of class to go to another room to cool down. There’s a special meeting Friday night to discuss what action the school board may take against her.
