Primary 2018 Winner Recap

Indiana Republicans have watched their Senate primary turn into a street fight. Now, they’ll have to unite behind Mike Braun to get ready for fall. Braun – running as a Washington outsider – defeated Todd Rokita and Luke Messer to face Democratic Senator Joe Donnelly in the November election. The freshman Democrat’s reelection bid is one of a handful of races that will determine control of the Senate.

Greg Pence easily won the Republican nomination for Indiana’s Sixth Congressional District – the same seat his younger brother held for nearly 10 years. Pence will be facing Democrat Jeanine Lee Lake in the fall.

Dee Thornton gets the democratic nomination for the U.S. Representative 5th District and will challenge Republican Incumbent Susan Brooks.

District 25 State Senator Incumbent Democrat Tim Lanane defeated Tamie Dixon-Tatum and will square off against Republican Zaki Ali.

In the race for State Senator District 26, Democrat Dave Cravens defeats Dave Ring and will face Republican Mike Gaskill in the November election.

John (J.D.) Prescott won the republican nomination for District 33 State Representative over Jenae Horn Blasdel.

State Representative District 36 incumbent Terri Austin easily defeated challenger Rebecca Crumes.

Madison County Council, District 1 Republican Jerry Alexander will run against Incumbent Democrat Clayton Whitson in the fall.

Incumbent Ray Dudley easily beat his challenger Charlie Richmond for the democratic nomination for Delaware County Sheriff. Dudley will face Republican challenger Tony Skinner in November.
