A trial date has been set for 2019 for a former Anderson Mayor. Kevin Smith is facing a lawsuit from Diana Priser related to an incident involving an absentee ballot in 2015. Police were called on Oct. 29 that year to investigate the reported mishandling of at least one voting ballot at Vermillion Place, 449 Main St., an assisted-living facility operated by United Faith Housing. The trial was set for July 2019 and is not expected to take more than three days.
