It will be a brisk start to the New Year. Prairie Creek Reservoir will hold its sixth annual Polar Bear Plunge on New Years’ Day. The jump into the frigid waters of the reservoir will take place at 1 p.m. Monday. Temperatures are expected to reach a high near 9 degrees that day, so it’s highly unlikely that the event will be called off due to weather.
