An Indianapolis man accused of fatally shooting a police officer who was trying to help him following a car crash wants his trial moved out of Marion County. An attorney for 28-year-old Jason Brown filed a motion for a change of venue Thursday in Marion Superior Court because of pretrial publicity about the case. Brown is charged with murder in the July 27 slaying of 38-year-old Southport police Lt. Aaron Allan.
