Anderson woman arrested for welfare fraud

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Chanette Carmichael of Anderson on suspicion of welfare fraud. Investigators determined she was receiving Supplemental Social Security Income benefits for her son who lived with his father. She’s facing perjury, theft and welfare fraud for taking over $18,000 in SSI benefits.
