The Anderson Community Schools board has a new leader. Patrick Hill has been named president and Tim Long elected vice president. Hill, an Indiana University-Kokomo professor, did not outline any specific goals for the board this year, but he thanked previous President Ben Gale and Jean Chaille for their service as board officers.

An Indianapolis police officer who is the son of the Marion County sheriff was among three people arrested in connection with an alleged conspiracy to deal cocaine. 35-year-old Nikolas Layton was employed as a full-time police officer with IMPD and is also the son of Marion County Sheriff John Layton.
