If officials can find the right fit, Muncie Community Schools may contract with a private firm that would provide security at local schools. The Star Press reports security currently, at Central High School, the two MCS middle schools and the city’s elementary schools — is now provided by school resource officers overseen by a chief of security for the school corporation. Right now the switch is in an exploration phase.
