Demolition Starts Today On Former Reid Hospital

Demolition is set to begin today on the former Ried Hospital complex in Richmond. The abandoned hospital has been badly damaged by vandals over many years since a new campus opened in 2008. It is expected to cost the city more than 4-million-dollars. The city took over the site after an out-of-state owner stopped paying property taxes in 2011.
