The former chief of police fired in Gaston won’t be charged with a crime. Carl Barber, who was fired on October 17th, will not be prosecuted for any charges. Officials aren’t saying exactly why Barber was let go from his post. But after an ISP investigation, the prosecutor says the charges are unwarranted.
