Pre-Trial Hearing For Yorktown Clerk-Treasurer

Yorktown Clerk-treasurer Beth Neff and her attorney, in a pre-trial hearing this week, moved for dismissal of the petition to oust her from office. They claim that the petitioners – former town council members – had not met the requirements laid out by Indiana Code. The attorney for Laura Vise and Bob Flanagan cited legal code that allows for the removal of an elected official for “refusing or neglecting to perform the official duties pertaining to their office”. The judge is expected to decide whether the case will move forward.
