Jay County Man Drowns After SUV Crash

A Jay County man drowned after his SUV crashed into the Salamonie River. 73 year old Lawrence E. Kirkpatrick of Pennville, was pronounced dead after his 2008 Jeep Patriot was found in the river, near Jay County Road 300-North, on Sunday afternoon, after the vehicle left the road, went over an embankment and struck a tree before landing in the river on its driver’s side.
