Solar Approved for a Local County

Blackford county is one of four approved last week – The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission said yes to Indiana Michigan Power’s plan to expand its renewable energy generation with four new solar plants capable of generating energy to power more than 200,000 typical homes by mid-2026.  The Lake Trout property is slated to begin construction in fall 2024 and be generating power by spring 2026.

Red Ribbon Week is a national effort to recognize the importance of communities educating youth about the dangers of substance abuse.  The Delaware County Prevention Council held their breakfast fundraiser yesterday, and shared in a release that the PRIDE Team of high schoolers will head to local elementary schools to spread a message of abstaining from alcohol, tobacco, and drug use and the positive effect that doing so has on a person’s life. Delaware County is currently in the top 10 worst counties in the state for death from overdose.
