In an effort to retain employees in the Madison County criminal justice system, the County Council has approved a 10% pay increase. The Herald Bulletin reports council approved a 10% raise for jail officers and workers with the Correctional Complex and a 5% pay increase for all other employees. The jail officers received a 10% raise earlier this year and the starting hourly pay rate for the officers was raised to $22 per hour.
