Positive news to start your day  – As the MCS school year gets ready to launch later this week, another in a series of reports from last week’s WMUN Radio interview with BSU Pres. Mearns, on what he believes are strengths in the District

Ball State continues to oversee MCS in a state-ordered partnership started about 5 years ago.


People are still talking about Friday night – A one-point difference between first and second place at the Indiana State Fair Band Day placed Kokomo High School (AAA) Kokomo, IN as the winner, and  Muncie Central High School (AAA) Muncie Central, IN in second. The rest of the Sweet 16 finishing order for WLBCland bands  included:

Fire Up Downtown Muncie over the weekend filled the streets of downtown with people, activities, and the smells of barbeque and much more.  It also served as the end of the leadership of Vicki Veach, for the Muncie Downtown Development Partnership.  An unofficial sendoff was planned toward the end of the event.


News Bits:  A survey found that 4 in 10 people admit to taste-testing their pet’s food.   The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says August is the most popular month of the year for births. July is second.  Alaska is the northernmost, westernmost, and easternmost state in the US.
