With approval from Muncie City Council, incoming officers and those already with the Muncie Police Department would receive a 10% boost in starting salary as of January 1st. The Star Press reports city police administrators are hopeful a planned 10-percent pay hike will make it easier to recruit new officers — and to retain those already on the force.
