A Muncie woman is dead after a fire in her downtown apartment Thursday. Investigators say 76 year old Carolyn Fisher died at the hospital after being carried out of the residence in the 800 block of South Madison Street. She apparently only had a faint pulse at the time . Careless smoking may have been a cause, but the investigation is ongoing.
