Nichols’ Attorney Says His Client Has Dementia

An attorney for Phil Nichols says his client has dementia and he’s requesting a hearing to determine whether Nichols can be prosecuted, as a result. The 75 year old former Delaware County Democratic Party chairman signed an agreement to plead guilty to a felony charge — conspiracy to commit wire fraud — stemming from a years-long federal investigation of corruption in Muncie city government. No word on an answer to the hearing request.
