36 years behind bars for an ex-Eaton resident who tried to shoot a Delaware County sheriff’s deputy more than four years ago. 26 year old Shane Shumate was found guilty in February of attempted murder. Back in 2018, authorities were intending to arrest Shumate for domestic battery when he emerged from his house holding a .22-caliber handgun and fired it in the direction of a deputy.
