Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign Falls Just Short

A noble effort during a trying time and the Muncie Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign fell just short of its $173,000 goal, raising $164,270. The Star Press reports funds collected amounted to $40,142 from the red kettle stations, $101,515 in mail donations and $22,613 in miscellaneous contributions. The initiative also drew more than a hundred fewer volunteers than it usually does.
