We now know what they want – yesterday, we asked Delaware County Commissioner Scott Alexander about that voluntary furlough program approved this past Friday – asking how much the County hopes to save, he wrote, “We left the number open ended.  Henry County passed a similar voluntary furlough that projected 30 furloughed at a savings to the County of around $200,000.  We have left it up to the department heads and elected officials in each office to approve each employee based on confidence that office could function without those furloughed employees.  We are hoping for similar results as far as numbers.”

The Indiana Supreme Court has ruled to suspend Indiana’s attorney general for 30 days.  The suspension, which prohibits Curtis Hill from practicing law in Indiana, will start May 18, according to the document.  Once the 30 days is up, the AG will be automatically reinstated  as long as no other suspensions have been put in place.  Hill is accused of inappropriately touching women at a party in March 2018.

He  stated, he is in Washington, trying to the work of the people.

Per data released by the Small Business Administration, nearly 72-thousand Paycheck Protection Program loans have been approved as of May 8 for small businesses in Indiana, with funds still remaining.  PPP loans, a provision of the CARES Act, are backed by the SBA and forgivable if at least 75% of dollars received are applied toward payroll.

Second Harvest Food Bank announces the following Tailgate Food Distribution events: today, 10am – 12pm at both the Jay County Fairgrounds  AND Five Points Mall in Marion.  Wednesday, from 10am – 12pm in Elwood.  Thursday, 10am – 12pm at Muncie Mall.  Friday, 9am-11am at First Baptist Church in New Castle, and then that afternoon as well from 1pm – 3pm in Winchester.
