A New Castle man has been found guilty of the 2016 murder of Chancellor “Chance” Smith.The jury trial for Camron D. Perkins, 29, started Monday. The jury returned three guilty verdicts Thursday.Perkins was found guilty of two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder for the Nov. 6, 2016 shooting in Spiceland that left Smith dead and another man, Jessie Fulton, injured.Perkins’ sentencing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Feb. 20 in Henry Circuit Court 2.Perkins is the second person to be found guilty in Smith’s death. Tyler Pennington pled guilty to attempted robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and was sentenced in July to 30 years in prison.Devin Asberry is also facing murder and attempted murder charges for Smith’s death and Fulton’s injuries. Asberry’s jury trial was delayed while the court tried Perkins. Asberry’s trial had not been rescheduled yet.
