Elwood To Raise Utility Rates In First Quarter Of 2020

The Elwood City Council is raising utility rates. The council agreed to raise rates for sewer, water and trash collection in order to raise the needed $2.6 million in bonds for the second phase of a sewer treatment utility and to make state-mandated upgrades. The rate hike will take effect in the first quarter of 2020.
