A probation check for a man wanted on three active warrants ended with an injury to a police officer. According to the Herald Bulletin, 31-year-old Nicholas Johns of Elwood is charged with felony battery to a public safety officer and other counts. A pretrial conference is set for Dec. 13 to determine a trial date in the case.
