A Madison County inmate is facing new charges after attempting to escape and attacking an officer. The Herald Bulletin reports that 41-year-old Samuel Martin climbed on top of a partially opened window and kicked the screen – in an attempt to escape. He also the struck the guard that tried to stop him.
