MadCo To Study Feasibility Of New Jail

With the recent decision not to explore the potential of constructing a regional jail with Henry County, Madison County officials are looking at other options.  According to the Herald Bulletin, Madison County Commissioners are starting to gather information on the potential costs of a feasibility study to construct a new facility. The current Madison County Jail was opened in 1978 with 207 beds, but has frequently been well overpopulated.
