County Must Provide Emergency Service; Even If City Doesn’t Pay

The contract between Muncie and Delaware County that funds the Delaware County Emergency Operations Center expires in November. According to the Star Press, even if the county and city can’t work out an agreement, the county cannot stop providing the service even if Muncie stops paying for it. Muncie Mayor Dennis Tyler says the county will have to provide the same service they provided before the inter-local agreement went into place.
