“The End Of An Era”

With Thursday’s finale of The Big Bang Theory and Sunday’s end of Game of Thrones, viewership for major television events is slowly eroding and the era of a “share experience” has passed, says Dom Caristi, a telecommunications professor at Ball State University. For example, in1983 more than 100 million people watched the final episode of M*A*S*H; while Game of Thrones has never had an episode that reached even 13 million viewers.
